This was my first speed dating event- before you get all excited- this was a focused event on Products. It was a closed event open to members of the press including magazines, newspaper, online editors, top bloggers and tv/radio producers. This event focused on breast cancer “Pink Gear”- our focus was Pink Pole Balance Walking, products used for Balance Walking and on the Susan G. Komen International Campaign with focus on wellness & prevention.

This was an intense one-day event and I discussed the concept with probably sixty writers and producers looking for material for September/October Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I do not know what the final outcome will be but it was a great way to cast the net on programs that are strategic and important to Foot Solutions. As a budding writer releasing his second book, it was also kind of neat to stay in the Algonquin Hotel that has such a strong history for writers and informal meetings. I did make sure to work on part of my second book while in the lobby in the evenings. Hopefully it will be printed shortly.

I recently returned from my first visit to the PBS station in New York City. I had a great time being intertviewed by Jeff Yastine for possible inclusion on a PBS/Nightly Business Report segment.  As any entrepreneur will tell you, it is always exciting to discuss your concept (in this case Foot Solutions) and what sets you apart from everyone else.  I know that the interview time will be sliced and diced and may end up only a few minutes long, but at the end of the day it was a great experience and I cannot wait to see the finished product.
